Course Description:
This 5 day course provides a full product overview, including in-depth training on how to use Hitachi Dynamic Provisioning (HDP), Hitachi Dynamic Tiering (HDT) and Hitachi Tiered Storage Manager (HTSM). The course also includes exercises that affirm the recommended practices for each of these products. In addition, this course includes hands-on lab activities designed to build the skills necessary to use these key software products.

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

• Describe the Hitachi Data Systems virtualization solutions and tools
• Describe how Hitachi Resource Partition Manager helps implement multitenancy on Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (VSP) family
• List the features of Hitachi Dynamic Tiering (HDT) and describe how it addresses challenges associated with implementing tiered storage solutions
• Perform Dynamic Tiering operations with Hitachi Command Suite (HCS) v8.x
• Describe the options for monitoring performance for Dynamic Tiering pools
• List recommended practices for Dynamic Tiering pools
• Describe how operations with Hitachi Tiered Storage Manager (HTSM) help resolve issues related to migration between RAID groups
• Set up the command line interface (CLI) for Hitachi Tiered Storage Manager (HTSM)
• Perform data migrations between RAID groups, external, internal, normal and Hitachi Dynamic Provisioning (HDP) volumes
• Perform Tiered Storage Manager maintenance and troubleshooting
