Course Description:
This 4 day course provides an overview of the Hitachi Tuning Manager (HTnM) v8.x architecture and components. It provides details on how Tuning Manager can be used to monitor, analyze, diagnose and forecast system performance. It familiarizes you with the methodology of troubleshooting system performance problems using Tuning Manager. Hands-on lab activities are designed to build the skills required to use reports and alarms to proactively manage storage systems. The lab activities also include the use of problem reporting, resolution, avoidance and storage management forecasting.

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

• Describe key challenges associated with managing performance in a storage environment
• Outline key metrics and critical values of Hitachi modular storage and Hitachi enterprise storage
• Describe Hitachi Tuning Manager (HTnM) components and architecture
• Describe the different types of Tuning Manager agents
• Demonstrate and describe how to navigate the Tuning Manager graphical user interface (GUI)
• Describe the usage of the Hitachi Command Suite Analytics tab features
• Identify Main Console and Performance Reporter reports and features
• Edit existing Performance Reporter system reports and create new user reports
• Create and use bookmarks and combination bookmarks
• Create agent-level alarms and perform agent alarm management
• Describe Tuning Manager monitoring of an active flash enabled Hitachi Dynamic Tiering (HDT) Pool and its Dynamic Tiering volumes
• Describe the Tuning Manager functions of Complete Storage Monitoring
• Outline Tuning Manager Storage System functions and features
• Back up, restore and migrate the Tuning Manager server database
• Back up, restore and migrate the Tuning Manager agent store database
• Collect the data required for successful troubleshooting
